In 1964 Ben Gary and his wife, Burnetta took a leap of faith and opened an auction barn in Spring Hill, TN. Spring Hill Community Auction, a true family business, quickly became a place where people in Middle Tennessee could consign their wares and also have a lot of fun on Friday nights!

Ben was a colorful character with wit and a reputation of honesty. The business continued to thrive selling antiques, farm equipment, and even cattle.

After graduating from MTSU James, Ben’s son, brought a new face to the business with an emphasis on real estate. Their styles complimented each other, and the business became a more full-service auction company, Gary Realty and Auction. James specializes in assisting families with settling estates with both real and personal property.

Now a third generation member of the family, Joe Spencer, has developed an expertise in technology and implementing online auctions! He graduated from Missouri Auction School and is a principal auctioneer and real estate affiliate broker.
